All You Need to Pack on the Muscle

Muscle building is achievable by anyone who wants to commit themselves to the sport. It’s a great form of exercise; it increases strength and can provide you with a great looking body. If you’re interested in building up your muscles this year, here are some excellent tips that will set you up for success.

Find a Decent Gym

It will be easier to keep up your workouts if you join a gym. Look for one that is either close to your home or close to your work if you’re planning on working out in your lunch break or before or after work. Take a tour of the gym and ask what support or extras are available for bodybuilders or those wanting to focus on muscle growth. If possible, book an appointment with a personal trainer for your first few sessions, as they’ll be able to give you lots of information and advice on the right type of exercise for your goals.

If money is an issue, you could skip the gym and set yourself up with some weights in your home. However, decent weights are not cheap and you will need to find advice on how to work out correctly in order to avoid being injured.

Change Your Diet

If you’re working out to pack on the muscle, you’re going to need to give your body the foods it needs to build new fibres. Protein is a must; you need to eat more of it once you begin your training sessions. Protein can be found in plenty of foods, but one of the most excellent sources is eggs.  Eating egg whites to help build muscle is highly recommended as there is no fat, just clean protein. If you’re asking yourself where can I buy egg whites pay a visit to

Other foods to stock up in include whole grain cereals, meats such as chicken, turkey and beef and don’t forget all the fresh fruit and vegetables. Nuts and fish are excellent sources of protein too, so try out a few new recipes if you aren’t used to using these ingredients.

Commitment to the Goal

There are going to be plenty of days when you feel like slouching in front of the television. You’re going to need all your motivation to get off that sofa and head for the gym, which isn’t always easy. If you’re eating for muscle gain and you don’t go and work out, you’re going to put on weight, which defeats the entire object. If you want to gain muscle and lose weight, you will need to find ways to motivate yourself (if that’s not enough!). Make a commitment to yourself, tell your friends and your family, and don’t give up!

Before you begin your workout, go and speak to your GP or book an appointment with a nutritionist.  The more information you have regarding eating right for working out and gaining muscle, the better equipped you’ll be.
